Bottom of the Feet

Many people claim, “Oh, I’m just the calluses on the bottom of the feet in the Body of Christ. I’m just worth nothing.” That right there is a lie. In fact, it would be a blessing to be the calluses on the bottom of the feet. Why? Look at Jesus.
“After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel which He was girded.” – John 13:5.
Jesus washed His disciples’ feet. If Jesus was willing to wash His disciples’ feet and care about a part of the body overlooked by many, then does He not see you who claim to be the calluses on the bottom of the feet of the Body of Christ. If you think the bottom of the feet are so unimportant, then why did Jesus wash them? It is because in God’s eyes, it doesn’t matter if you are at the top or the bottom. God is not a respecter of persons. Your value isn’t determined by the role you play in the Kingdom. Each role has its own honor and purpose, equal in their unique parts. Jesus showed us that being a servant is the greatest role you could take because you become the least, and God values that too. Look at what Paul said.
“And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.” – 1 Corinthians 12:23-25.
There is a balance here. The things that are least desirable, like being a simple servant, are the ones that are bestowed of a greater honor so that these parts are of equal value to the parts that are desirable, like being a well-known preacher or evangelist. God desires unity among us and doesn’t want there to be divisions and problems. If we let go of positions, titles, roles, and the root of it all, pride, then we will realize that the true value is between you and God. So overall, it doesn’t matter if you’re the bottom of the feet or the best of the best. In God’s eyes, there is no best person. In fact, I would argue that being the calluses of the feet is a blessing to be. Why? Because Jesus cares about the feet that He would wash them and keep them clean as He did with His disciples’ feet. Find your value and your identity in God through your relationship with Him.
