Comparison of Generations
“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7.
Don’t compare each other by the physical appearance and traits of another person. One of the biggest stumbling blocks in comparison is age. Someone who is way past their prime may look at someone who is just entering their prime and they are doing amazing things for the Kingdom of God. Remember, you are at a different pace and part on your journey. Don’t let age concern you, for God can do more in 1 year than 50 years of your life if you allow Him. Age isn’t even a factor in God’s eyes because He knows the plans for you in every year of your life and how He will use you to change the world around you if you will only just allow Him to.
“But the Lord said to me: Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.” – Jeremiah 1:7.
Jeremiah was young and put limits on himself because of his age until God told him not to worry about that. The same principle applies to those who are elderly and older. To those who are older, I encourage you with this. You are still here for a reason because God still has an assignment for you. Age does not limit God. The only thing that limits God is how willing you are to obey Him. So, if you walk in obedience with God, do not worry about how old you are for God can use you in many ways. Remember, you were not born a second too late, nor a second too early; you were born for this exact time. The traits of the body and physical realm are just the cover of a book. What really matters is the content inside that book. The true trait is the heart. God sees the heart. So, do we compare hearts? Absolutely not! The same treasure that resides in you is the same treasure God sees in someone else because that is how much God values each one of us individually. So overall, just because someone has different physical traits doesn’t mean they are better than someone else. For God sees the heart and the treasure within that person that He sent Jesus to pay the price for them. The Body of Christ is the pearl that God paid all He had for.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.” – Matthew 13:45-46.
