Going with God's Flow

God’s flow is like a river, and rivers are never straight but they do always end up at their destination. Going with God’s flow is following Him wherever He goes, even when you can’t see where He is leading you or what the outcome will be. Yet, you have to trust Him because He will lead you to the right place every single time without fail. The only way you don’t get to the right place is because of you not following Him. So, as you follow God’s river and His flow, trust where He is taking you when He makes a turn. Remember, that turn is just for a season if it is a bit bumpy.
“When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other. Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. And it shall be that every living that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.” – Ezekiel 47:7-9.
This passage mentions several times that wherever the river goes, everything will live. Simply put, it doesn’t matter where God is calling you to go, whether it is halfway across this planet or whether it is to start something new. As long as it is where God wants you to go, then that is where His river is going. Therefore, go with His flow because you will be better off by His river than out in the middle of the desert obeying your own flesh.
“Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.” – Ezekiel 47:12.
These verses also mention that there are many kinds of trees along these rivers because the river supports and supplies those trees. This river is where the Body of Christ is planted because it is where its nutrition and lifeline come from. You too will be supported and supplied by God by simply going with Him. Too many times people take the wrong perspective to the windy and bumpy parts of God’s river. It may not make sense to you when you’re in the process of making a turn following His river, but every turn God makes is backed with a valid reason and to support your well-being because God knows what you truly need in your life. You have to look at the windy and bumpy parts of God’s river like a waterslide in a way. If you are at a waterpark and all the rides are straight and not windy, those rides wouldn’t be as exciting and fun as the crazy waterslides with all the curves and exciting features. Another way of seeing it is if you were rafting down the river. If it was again, straight and not really windy, sure you would have fun but not as much as an exciting river full of rushing water and turns. It is all a matter of perspective. Instead of looking at the windy and crazy parts of God’s river with negativity, look at those parts with excitement because those parts will be the most memorable times with God, and you will see Him work more in your life than normal. Once again, it is only for a season. So overall, God’s river has parts where they are super still while some parts are wild like waterfalls. Each part and each season have a different purpose in your walk with God. Simply receive it and enjoy it before the next turn comes along. Don’t be a dam or a stumbling block that hinders what His river can do in your life; just go with God’s flow.
