Racing Together

Those who run this race but forsake one another are those who are too concerned with their own agenda and their own desires that they put aside God’s desire which is to help people along the race pulling them when they need help. Therefore, don’t let titles, fame, wealth, high positions, authority, power, or anything like that distract you from the assignment God has placed on your life for this good race you are running. All those things are simply tools and tools are used to help you and assist you in your mission and task. Rather, use those tools of authority, power, wealth, and those things as an opportunity to help others along their race. Those who race and forget everything else behind are those who have forgotten whose team they are on but rather focused on themselves only. Aren’t we all on the same team here or have we forsaken our bonds and relationships with one another for selfish gain and ambition? Therefore, run the race as a race to finish first WITH your team which is the Body of Christ not forsaking one another. We were never meant to run this race alone just as we aren’t supposed to walk this earth alone. It would be much easier to finish the race together rather than doing everything by yourself. That’s the point of a team, sticking together and pulling each other up when they fall. The enemy wants you to seek selfish gain and forsake your team. The enemy wants you to do this race alone because then you are less of a threat to him. It is much easier for him to take out one person at a time than to face a whole team of people. The enemy knows he can’t win this race and he knows his fate because he has already lost. That being said, he is going to try to pick off one-by-one as many people as he can to take down with him. It will be a lot harder for him if you stand as a united front as the Body of Christ undivided.
“If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” – Mark 3:24-25.
Did not Jesus, who was the farthest ahead in the race with all authority and ability to finish first, fall back to the very last place to rescue those and pull those in last so that they may finish as well? Twelve nobodies in this world were the ones Jesus came back and led to the finish line as an example of how we are to lead and pull each other to the finish line.
“I returned and saw under the sun that – the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all. – Ecclesiastes 9:11.
This verse is saying that it isn’t about who is the best at something. It is about what we make of the time and opportunity we are given to lead others to the finish line. If you are like the swift, the strong, the wise, the skillful, or the men of understanding, then use those God-given talents and qualities to pull those along the race to the finish line. Consider using those characteristics and advantages to help those behind you leading them on rather than seeking your own gain. For as it says in the last part of the verse that time and chance, which is opportunity, will be given to all including yourself. So overall, this race was never meant to be ran alone. That is why you have the Body of Christ, and above all others, Jesus, your greatest racing partner always there with you as you run your race. A team works together to accomplish their goal. Therefore, go out and run your race with your team using what God has given you to help pull others along so that you may cross that finish line on that day with your team so you all can receive the reward of eternity with Christ Jesus, the greatest reward of all.
