Seeing Opportunity
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” – Galatians 6:9-10.
In today’s time, we face many challenges and storms. However, God made us to be conquerors and victors that pursue through even the roughest of times with patience and endurance making the most of it finding every speck of gold in the dirt. If you live by the flesh and perceive each situation with a negative perspective, you will walk that negativity out in your life. Rather, if you look at each situation with a positive perspective, you will be able to find even the smallest specks of gold within the filthiest of dirt. Galatians also talks about not growing weary but keeping a good heart. If you will make the most out of every situation even when it challenges your patience and endurance, you will find that opportunity for a harvest of things and people. Instead of looking at a challenge with disappointment and fear, look at it with the question of asking God, “God, how do you want me to walk through this, and how can I make the best of this challenge?”
“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.” – Colossians 4:5.
Instead of looking at a challenge that discourages you, look at it as an opportunity to use your fruits of the Spirit so that others, especially unbelievers, may you see you prosper in the hardest of times in which will encourage them. Whether you realize it or not, people see you; therefore, live in God’s wisdom and guidance.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-16.
We are the light of the world. The darker the skies, the brighter the stars. Those who make the best of all situations, even the hardest seasons, will be the stars that shine the brightest.
“See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 6:15-16.
Be sure to walk diligently in all situations. How you perceive a situation will determine how you walk through it. Use God’s wisdom and His perspective so that you may see all the redemptive possibilities in each situation. We live in a dark world, but where there is darkness, there is the opportunity for light to overcome the darkness. If you can make the most out of every situation, you will make an opportunity for God to redeem something through you. What the enemy tried to use against you can be used to magnify God.
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” – Ecclesiastes 9:10.
What this is saying is that we need to make the most of every situation while we still live. Here on this world is the only opportunity to live by faith because when we depart to go home with Jesus, we won’t be given this chance. Therefore, even if the challenge looks terrifying, don’t give up. Now is your chance to trust in God’s might and redemptive capabilities. You don’t overcome darkness by your own strength in the flesh for there is no light in the flesh. You overcome the darkness through God’s strength and might. So overall, whether in or out of season, whether in the storm or clear skies, whether in the dark of night or in the light of day, find the opportunity to be the light of Christ in ALL situations. Keep pushing forward in your patience and endurance because you will reach the harvest in due time. With God, challenges aren’t obstacles, they are opportunities to overcome obstacles.
